George Clooney is back on the market! The 50 year-old actor finally decided to dump his super hot girlfriend, Italian model/TV personality Elisabetta Canalis, after more than two years together.

George and Elisabetta released the following joint statement: “We are not together anymore. It’s very difficult and very personal and we hope everyone can respect our privacy.”

Added Elisabetta’s publicist: “It is a very personal and sad matter, and Elisabetta wants it to remain that way. She will be taking some time … and then will face the press. She has not authorized me to say when the split happened.”

The 32 year-old made one incredibly stupid mistake when she talked about eventually getting married and having babies in the future, which is like a kiss of death for Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor.

“I could never be with someone who every time he opens his mouth says he doesn’t want a child with me or to marry me,” Elisabetta said in an interview last month. “Who knows what will happen? I am a firm believer in marriage, in the future I will be married, but for the time being I am happy as I am. I don’t need anything to confirm how happy I am.”

As soon as the big commitment idea started forming in Elisabetta’s pretty little brain, George knew what he had to do. He offered her a few more extra romantic moments, including a candlelight dinner in Lake Como, Italy last week, before he let her know it was time to move on.

While Elisabetta is currently mourning the loss of her relationship with George in a bikini at some beautiful beach in Mexico, George wonders, “Who’s next?”
