Actress-turned-author Florence Henderson, who was most famous for her role on the classic show The Brady Bunch, reveals in her new memoir that she had a one-night stand with former New York City Mayor John Lindsey. The best part? She woke up the next morning to discover that she had contracted crabs.
The affair between the couple was short-lived, obviously, not only due to the crabs, but the fact that Lindsey was then married, as was Henderson to Ira Bernstein. She wrote in her memoir, Life Is Not A Stage:
“I was lonely. I knew it wasn’t the right thing to do. So, what did I do? I did it.”
“Guess I learned the hard way that crabs do not discriminate but cross over all socioeconomic strata. He must have had quite the active life. What a way to put the kibosh on a relationship.”
Henderson stayed married to Bernstein until their divorce in 1985; she later married Dr. John Kappas, who passed in 2002. Lindsay died in 2000.
I’m SHOCKED that she would reveal something like this in her book. Where’s the class, Henderson? Guess you gotta do whatcha gotta do to sell a book.
