Chord Overstreet‘s character Sam Evans tranferred to Glee‘s Mckinley High at the beginning of season two, but now he’s transferring out of the school and out of the series. Not that it’s his choice–Overstreet had his series regular option declined by Glee creator Ryan Murphy and his staff.

While Overstreet was an important part of this season, the whole “is-he-or-isn’t-he” gay storyline ended when he unsuccessful offered Dianna Agron‘s character, Quinn a promise ring. Overstreet told Ryan Seacrest last October that his character was originally written as a boyfriend for Chris Colfer‘s character, but his chemistry with Agron led to a completely different character for Sam Evans.

When the news broke on Friday, Darren Criss, who plays Colfer’s on-screen boyfriend, and Harry Shum Jr., who plays Mike, both got the good news that they would become series regulars.

It’s been reported that there’s still a chance that Overstreet will return as a guest.

Big mistake, Murphy. He’s one of the only semi-believable characters on Glee. Sad to see him go.

After spending the night aboard the Canadian frigate HMCS Montreal in the Captain’s quarters, Prince William and Kate Middleton began their fourth day touring Canada at a prayer service with the 200 sailors aboard the ship.

The 45-minute service included prayers for the Queen, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Commonwealth and armed forces. The couple also sang along in French to the hymn “Je Louerai L’Eternel (Praise, I Will Praise You Lord).”

Kate wore a blue Erdem Moralioglu dress–the same Canadian-born, British designer who made the dress she wore for her arrival on Thursday– along with a pair of nude pumps.

After the ceremony, the couple made their way across town to visit Maison Dauphine, a local organization for at-risk youth. William and Kate listened to stories, looked at artwork and spent time with the members. Marie-Pier, 23,  one of the members, told reporters:

“They have an aura. There’s a purple light around them. It puts you at ease.”

“They made us feel [that we are] important; forget about everything else going on around.”

She added:

“The kids were all sitting at a table, and they were a little intimidated,” Marie-Pier says. “[William] told them at one point, ‘Don’t ever let people put you down – because a prince looks up to you.’ “

I love that William and Kate are taking time to visit the less fortunate. It speaks volumes of them both.

On the second day of their North American tour, Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton arrived in a open horse-drawn carriage in Ottawa’s square at Parliament Hill for a celebration of Canada Day.

The celebration took place in front of hundreds of thousands of people, making the day bigger than ever:

“There must be five times more people here than normal,” says observer Sheila Ward, who works in the human resources department at Public Safety Canada in Ottawa. “And it’s because of Will and Kate. They are the main attraction. They are a wonderful, wonderful couple.”

The ever-so-stylish Kate was dressed in a cream Reiss dress, the same one she wore for her official engagement photos, along with a maple leaf brooch she borrowed from Queen Elizabeth herself. She topped off the charming outfit with a bright red maple leaf fascinator by Sylvia Fletcher at Lock and Co.

William spoke in French at times during his speech expressing his excitement:

“She heard about Canada not from her parents, but from her grandfather, a wonderful man who passed away last year. “[He] held this country dear to his heart, for he trained in Alberta as a young pilot during the Second World War.”

Calling the event “a day of unity,” William continued:

“Catherine and I especially are so thrilled and excited by the prospect of the next eight days of being part of the Canadian family. It will be an adventure that we’ll never forget.”

What a special day for the both of them and for Canada. And on a lighter note, could Kate look any better? That hat! Obsessed!

Prince William and his new wife Kate Middleton made time for some fun during their North American tour in Montreal, Canada on Saturday. The two donned white chef’s coats for a 40-minute cooking lesson at Montreal’s top cooking school, , Institut de tourisme et d’hotellerie du Quebec.

After a lesson with his host, Quebec’s Jean Charest who is known to be an accomplished chef, Prince William managed to create a complicated dish: lobster soufflé. He also managed to keep the staff laughing, sneaking strawberries and even dipping his spoon into a vat of chocolate. He even joked:

“Is there a time limit? Is it like [BBC TV cooking show] Ready Steady Cook? Do we eat as we go? I’m quite hungry!”

Duchess Kate, who was guided by student teacher Theresa Rindress, took her cooking lesson more seriously, learning to prepare an amuse-bouche of foie gras on a toasted brioche with apple cider jelly. After the lesson, Rindress told reporters:

“I asked her if she liked to cook at home. She said she likes to cook, but does not do fancy things.”

At the end of their successful time at the school, the Prince and his wife joined Charest and two of his senior aides to eat what they had prepared.

Former California Governor, actor Arnold Shwarzenegger’s wife, Maria Shriver, finally decided to take the first step to pull the trigger on their 25 year marriage, after he publicly revealed he fathered a love child (Joseph) with a former housekeeper named Mildred “Patty Baena” a couple of months ago.

Maria cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. She is seeking joint custody of their minor children, 17 year-old Patrick Arnold Shriver Schwarzenegger and 13 year-old Christopher Sargent Shriver Schwarzenegger. Maria also asked for the legal expenses of both partied to be paid by Arnold, spousal support for herself, and for the actor to be denied that right.

Yep, Arnold is about to lose a whole lot of money in this divorce. Maria and Arnold never signed a pre-nuptial agreement, which means their combined fortune ($400 million) is expected to be divided 50/50.

And it is sooooo boring.

There is literally nothing in the world more annoying than a bunch of middle aged women sitting around talking about the negative affects of social media – except for when they do it on national television.

On this week’s episode of Real Housewives of New York, Jill Zarin and Kelly Killoren Bensimon (pick a last name, for the love of God) spew the bullying buzzword of the moment so many times, I literally thought that Pee Wee Herman was going to jump out and scream “AHHHHHHHHHH!” while all the furniture in the room went crazy.

Basically, Jill and Kel are upset because the ever-controversial, Simon van Kempen, has been “mean Tweeting” them.  And because the world of a Real Housewife lives and dies by her Twitter account, this apparently is a big deal.

Listen ladies, why don’t you do what every grownup in the world has learned to do when someone is bothering them – ignore it!  Or, you could do the exact opposite of that and take the wife of the guy who is bothering you out to lunch and scold her until you feel better about yourself.

But then of course then you would be, Kelly Bensimon, or as my grandmother would say, “that one who is a real *sshole”.

Jersey Shore’s Pauly D, launched his new T-Shirt store, Dirty Couture Shore Store, on the Jersey boardwalk yesterday, but the overly-gelled DJ wasn’t even allowed to attend the opening!

Due to contractual obligations with MTV and Shore Store, Pauly D was required to work his scheduled shift hocking cheap gear down the street from his store’s grand opening!

Laaaaaaaaame sauce.

Can MTV take their grubby paws off their prisoners, er, reality stars, for like, two seconds?  We get that you’re responsible for their celebrity, but give a guy a break!

And doesn’t look like Pauly will be spreading his wings anytime soon; the funnyman is locked in to film season 5 of Jersey Shore and another MTV reality show centered around his life as a prominent Rhode Island DJ.

It looks like The Situation’s dad, Frank Sorrentino, is finally coming to his senses.

Months after Sitch filed suit against his father regarding the anti-Mike Sorrentino website, TheConfrontationSite.com, Frank Sorrentino and his estranged son have called a truce and are asking a judge to dismiss the case.

According to TMZ, Sorrentino Sr. has agreed to stop exploiting his son’s name and likeness for profit – a big step for a guy who just week ago said,

One of my boys is Michael Sorrentino, also known as The Situation.  He created more situations for me in my life, than the name he gave himself.  He put me in more confrontations, than any boy I ever had… I’m telling you you’re full of [crap].  I know you.  I stood up for you.  I put my [effing] balls on the line for you a hundred [effing] times . . . a hundred [effing] times…

Wonder what made Papa Dukes change his tune?

Perhaps it was the fact that Frank claims bashing his son in the media was not his idea, but that he was merely a pawn in the evil schemes of one, Robert Fletcher, a con artist, who wanted to profit from the Sorrentino family feud.  Sorrentino Sr.’s legal documents state,

I regret getting involved with Robert Fletcher and I am sorry that I participated, to the detriment of my son Michael.

When all is said and done, Frankie Boy will walk away free and clear and this Fletcher character will be out a paltry $5K.  This all sounds like a big, steaming pile of B.S. to me.  Sitch’s dad spends months defaming his son and gets away with it?

There’s got to be more to this “situation”…

Actor Ewan McGregor “accidently” revealed that he and his wife Eve Mavrakis recently expanded their family with a new addiction – an adopted baby girl who is now four months old – during an interview to promote the movie “Beginners”, which will be released in the US on June 3, 2011.

Ewan said, “My wife and four girls – 15, two nine year olds and a baby of four months – often come with me if it’s a holiday or my locations and their schedules allow. Sometimes we uproot them and put them in another school.”

Ewan and Eva managed to secretly adopt a baby, who must have been born in February of 2011. The two tied the knot in July 1995, and they already had three girls – Clara Mathilde (born February 1996), Esther Rose (born 7 November 2001), Jamiyan (born June 2001 in Mongolia; adopted April 2006).
