Troubled singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday, according to the UK Press Association. The Grammy Award winner was only 27.

Winehouse, who was best known for her hit single “Rehab,” had a history battling drugs and alcohol, which seemed never-ending. She recently left a British rehabilitation program that a representative said “was intended to prepare her for scheduled European concerts.” She ended up canceling the tour after a performance in Belgrade, Serbia, where she barely made it through some of her songs while staggering across the stage.

Her troubles also spread to her two-year marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil. The two were in the public eye for most of their marriage, which appeared to consist of drugs, alcohol and arrests. The couple divorced in 2009.

The singer’s parents went public with their efforts to help their struggling daughter in 2009, telling the London Telegraph that Winehouse was on the road to recovery:

“A gradual recovery, which is good,” Winehouse’s father Mitch told the Telegraph. “With slight backward steps – not drug backward steps, more drink backward steps if you follow my drift. I think that will be the pattern of recovery.”

This is all very sad. Rest in peace, Amy. And our well-wishes to your family.

Miley Cyrus has been known to be a bit of a diva, but she now seems to be avoiding a certain subject. Miley was asked by a Marine to attend the annual Marine Ball. This comes on the heels of other celebs being asked to attend as dates. While most have answered with a yes, Miley has not released a statement.

She has not answered the hopeful guy’s request or even acknowledge his request. Her Twitter has stayed hushed over the invite and so has her team. Thus far no plans have been made for her to confirm and go or decline. If she does decline she will not be the first, Betty White has declined her invite that she was given.

Prince William and Duchess Catherine have made their first trip to the USA recently, but on the flight back to England something did go wrong. The plane’s on board entertainment service went down during the 10 hour flight. It caused British Airways to feel the need to give customers free air miles or money. Despite that, the royal couple responded with a no.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey take the phrase “family fued” to a whole new level!

On this Sunday’s episode of RHONJ, Melissa Gorga tries to convince her husband, Joe, that the holidays are a time to reconcile and be with family – of course, good ol’ Joe ain’t havin’ none of that!

I can’t sit there and break bread with people like that, [with] Joe [Giudice's] family… They’re running their mouths to people, saying the christening [fight] was my fault. Christmas Eve is one of my favorite holidays and I don’t want to spend Christmas with the Giudices!

I mean, the guys got a point.  The Giudice family is about as pleasant to be around as a family of angry badgers… I’d imagine.

To her credit, Melissa does appear like she’s at least making an attempt to be civil.

If we don’t go, they wouldn’t feel like we’re trying to work it out… We absolutely have to go for a little while. It’s Christmas Eve!

Although Teresa and Melissa agreed to trying and get along for the sake of their kids earlier this season, it seems like these two biddies just can’t get over their deep-rooted hatred for each other.  Watching them have a conversation is like watching an episode of Gossip Girl guest starring two old Italian ladies fighting over Dan Humphrey.

In other words, it’s horrible.

Teen Mom 2 star, Jenelle Evans, is in hot water again after reportedly violating her probation, earlier this month.

Apparently, the trouble mama, who decided that she just couldn’t live without sparking up a doobie, (do people still say ‘doobie’?) tested positive for THC during an unscheduled drug test on July 13th.

Surprised?  So’s Jenelle’s attorney, Dustin Sullivan, who told E! News.

I just caught wind of this yesterday… They sent me this violation info about an hour ago. I did not know about it prior to. Have not spoke[n] to Jenelle yet.

According to reports, the positive drug test isn’t the only trouble the 19-year-old has gotten herself into recently.  Evans also failed to comply with the required “after-care” program, in which she was supposed to enroll after being released from in-patient treatment and , although Sullivan refutes this claim, is behind on court and probation supervision fees.

What I can tell you is that she is up to date on her payments and the probation officer has been made aware of this.

Riiiiight.

Oh, Jenelle, Jenelle, Jenelle.  Just when we all thought you were getting your act together, you go and dissappoint us again.  When will we learn!?

Reality TV Renascence man, Ryan Seacrest, is spearheading a new reality show pilot based on the Persian population of Southern California.  I guess his show about a blended Armenian family living in Hollywood wasn’t “ethnic” enough for him.

The show, Shahs of Sunset, will feature the daily lives of the wealthy Iranian population of Los Angeles.  According to the LA Times:

Armed with chromed-out cars, logo-ridden purses and designer outfits, they’ve got it and they’re not afraid to flaunt it,” Bravo said in a statement, while adding that the group also “knows the value of family and tradition.

In between hosting his radio show, producing everything with the name Kardashian on it, running American Idol and dating Dancing with the Stars cutie, Julianne Hough, (When do you sleep, Seacrest?) Ryan was able to release this statement about his new project.

The series will offer rich characters and relatable storylines about everyday life — love, work, friendship and family — steeped in a diverse culture, which is wildly entertaining and fun.

Okay, so basically what we have here is some third generation Persian immigrants spending their parents hard-earned money and acting entitled.  Sounds like Shahs of Sunset just might give Jersey Shore a run for its money!

On her love for Pilates:

“Leslie Bibb, my costar in Zookeeper, got me into it. After just a couple of weeks, I noticed a physical change, especially in my posture. Now I stand differently, I sit differently. I don’t love working out, but I can honestly say I miss Pilates and how it makes my body feel. And there’s nothing like it when those endorphins kick in.”

On what she learned from the recent passing of her grandmother:

“Since Mima’s passing, I have this sense of urgency and all of this energy to get things done. I need to stay furiously passionate for the rest of my life. I don’t want my tombstone to read: ‘She played it safe.’”

It looks like Countess LuAnn’s duet with Natalie Cole won’t be the only big surprise on the season finale of Real Housewives of New York tonight!

According to a leaked clip from tonight’s episode, the 54-year-old housewife may have let it slip to fellow housewife, Sonja Morgan, that she is expecting her second child.

I’m feeling, like, kind of like, a lack of energy… [My boobs] are like melons now… I haven’t even told [my husband] Mario that I’m late yet… My boobs are huge and they hurt.  The last time they were like this was when I was pregnant with Avery.

Looks like someone’s going to have to lay of the Pinot for a while!

This may all be a ploy to gain higher ratings for season five of RHONY, but I’ll admit, I’m intrigued!

On a side note, during her conversation with Ramona, Sonja shows off how her new jeggings “take off three pounds” from her svelte physique.  Um, I’m sorry, but am I missing something?  Did Ms. Morgan recently file for bankruptcy?  What is she doing buying new, designer jeggings??

On the heels of MTV promising that they will not recast the hugely popular reality hit, Jersey Shore, after the show’s fifth season, fan favorite, Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, announces that she wants to follow in The Situation’s footsteps, and appear as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

Well, she has had some experience in the dancing department recently.

Season 13 of Dancing with the Stars premieres on ABC on September 19th and it looks like Snooki isn’t the only reality star being courted by producers.  Sources say that Keeping up with the Kardashians star, Rob Kardashian, is also being considered,

Rob is such a low-key guy, so it would be interesting to see if he’d come out of his shell…

Another source cites that heavyweight boxing champion and The Hangover star, Mike Tyson, may also lace up his jazz flats for the show.

I cannot express how happy a Polizzi vs. Tyson’Dancing with the Stars’ finale would make me.

Reality superstar Kim Kardashian is reportedly planning to sue Old Navy for using a look-a-like model in one of their recent ad campaigns. To make things even more delicious, the model, Melissa Molinaro, has been linked to Kim’s former boyfriend, New Orleans Saints halfback Reggie Bush.
