Eccentric Lady GaGa kicked off the show dressed in drag as her male alter-ego, Jo Calderone, with an extra bizarre monologue and fantastic performance of “You and I” at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) held at the Nokia Theatre LA Live in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (August 28) – watch video below.

And this performance totally blew my mind. GaGa knocked it out of the park and then Queen’s Brian May rocked the house with his legendary guitar skills. “You and I” is probably my favorite GaGa song since I saw her performing it live for the first time.
