Selena did such a great job trying to be professional… that is until Justin mentioned his snake named Johnson, which simply created one of the most awkward moments on TV for me ever. Maybe I need to get my head out of the gutter, but the thought of Selena playing with Justin’s snake basically grosses/creeps me out.

Miley Cyrus is going to be an auntie! The former Disney actress’ big brother Trace Cyrus managed to get his girlfriend, another Disney star called Brenda Song, pregnant. The 23 year-old is about eight week along, and the couple is apparently thrilled with the news.

“Trace has known Brenda through Miley for years but they were always friends,” the source tells Us. However, Brenda and Trace did not expect or plan to get pregnant. Too soon. Too fast. “It was not expected,” the source tells Us. “They were both startled to find out she’s pregnant…They are figuring out how to handle it.”

Papa Billy Ray Cyrus must be livid. That’s what he gets for giving his kids useless purity rings instead of offering them a sexual education. Haven’t they heard of condoms and birth control pills? These are pretty effective contraceptive methods. I’m guessing there will be a Cyrus wedding soon!?

Adele was the big winner of the night for four Moonmen, closely followed by Katy Perry with three, including the biggest award of the night for “Firework” as Video Of The Year. Pop princess Britney Spears was honored with the 2011 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for more than a decade of awesome music videos.

Ashton Kutcher’s show Punk’d is back in production, only this time without Ashton as the host. Each week they will have a new celebrity host and the first prank of the revamped series starred Justin Bieber as the prankster. He joined Taylor Swift on stage, which was filmed last week. Ashton will still produce the show.

Ashton retired the show back in 2007 but it was rumored to bring it back last fall. Ashton has appeared to abandon acting for the most part (this excludes the few roles he has had since then) since he married Demi Moore. No word on when the series will premier or if any new format will be used.

I am sad about this news, to be honest. I loved the original and I think without him as the host the show will sink. It just will not work without his cool talk and fun ideas. I wonder why he does not want to be more involved in the show, though.

Life has been hard for Mel Gibson in the last year or so, something that can probably be attributed from troubles with his baby mommy Oksanna Grigorieva. The pair has been battling out the custody of their daughter since last year. Mel faced claims of abuse, while Oksanna faced claims of extortion. However, it appears that both have been cleared of those claims and have settled their case. Oksanna won’t get as much money as she wanted, but both do have rights to their daughter.

Finally, they have ended this long fight. I think that it is about time things clam down between both of them. Maybe they can now focus on raising their daughter and not on name-calling. After all, she needs both parents in her life. The last thing she would need is more drama.

Adam Levine & MTV’s Twitter Feud Over VMAs

“Those video images are so ingrained on a very large chunk of pop culture and the population,” points out Billboard’s Keith Caulfield. “If this were the Grammys, or a lifetime achievement award, that would be different.

“If you ask anyone who grew up on MTV from 1998 forward, they would see Britney in the same way that Madonna was seen in the 1980s,” Caulfield continues. “Britney was the female video-making star of that decade.”

“A tribute doesn’t mean you’re retiring,” Producer Sean Garrett points out. “A tribute can mean, ‘Hey, you’ve done a lot for this culture.’ You don’t have to wait until someone is about to die or has been in the boondocks for 10 years.”

“She’s been through a lot and she’s come out stronger, and that definitely warrants a tribute.”

[WATCH VIDEOS BELOW] In 1999, Britney took over the VMA’s stage for the first time with a performance of her hit “Baby One More Time”. Brit killed it with “Oops I Did It Again” (2000) and “I’m a Slave 4 U” (2001). Madonna, Christina Aguilera and Britney joined forces for one of the most controversial performances in 2003. Unfortunately, in 2007, Brit crashed and burned with “Gimme More”.

Britney is expected to take over the VMA’s stage once again tonight. Will she join her own tribute and perform? We hope so. Can’t wait.

The Voice coach Adam Levine, best known as the frontman of the band Maroon 5, is clearly not happy with the direction MTV is taking and took the opportunity to express his distaste for the channel’s programming choices, which include several futile and trashy reality TV shows.

Adam tweeted, “the VMA’s. one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. f**k you VMA’s.” Surprisingly, MTV retorted, “Soooo you’ll be tuning in at 9/8C (9 p.m. EDT/8 p.m. CDT) tomorrow right? … (BTW, bonus points if you TwitPic your 2004 Moonman!)” LOL.

“still waiting to have my ‘jerry macguire mission statement moment of deep regret… ‘ not happening. phew!”, Adam added, “i may be a pop singer. but every once in a while the angsty teenager in me just blurts out some raw honesty. it’s a reflex.”

Adam is right, but MTV is still somehow promoting music, and music videos. The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards haven’t even started and it’s already stirring some controversy. MTV would probably like to thank Adam, who must have a whole lot of time to polish his Moonman.

The show is going to be absolutely awesome – there will be performances by Lady GaGa and Chris Brown, and special tributes to the princess of Pop Britney Spears and the late Amy Winehouse. Tune in tonight at 9/8c.
