“I just wanted to let you know that I think you’re all the way beautiful. Not just pretty, but, you know, smart and kindhearted. And if I were a lot younger, I would marry you, and we would have chubby little freckled-faced kids…”

“Every day for the rest of your life, you would thank God that I was the appropriate age for you. But I’m not. I’m 49. I have lines on my face, sometimes a little gray in my beard, and it takes me a little longer to pee than it used to. Those are the only discernible signs of aging that I can find so far.

Is this a joke or does Jim really have a major crush on the “Easy A” star? I say screw Jim’s age and peeing issues. Love is beautiful and should be enjoyed. Emma is a very mature 22 year-old with no daddy issues, so I want to see her with Jim so badly. I’d totally “ship” them together.

Actor Michael Showers, best known for his role as police captain John Guidry in “Treme”, was found dead, floating in the Mississippi river on Wednesday (August 24). The 45 year-old was reported missing by his girlfriend on Tuesday (August 23).

The actor’s body, which appeared to have been in the water for two days, was found near the French Quarter in New Orleans. The cause of death is still a mystery. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed to determine the circumstances of this tragic death – murder, suicide, or an unfortunate accident?

Michael was also known for special appearances in hit TV shows like “Breaking Bad” and “The Vampire Diaries”, and movies like “Traffic” and “The Tree of Life”.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

It’s this week’s sign of the apocalypse and wouldn’t you know it, it comes at the hands of Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.

The latest episode of Jersey Shore featured Sitch frolicking the streets of Florence, arm in arm with his DTF buddy and study abroad student, Brittany Taitos and her twin sister, Erica - an act he hoped would ultimately lead to the coveted act of “Twinning”.  (You’re all smart people, I’ll let you figure out what “Twinning” means…)

It was a disgusting site, to be sure, but the real grit and grime of the episode came when, while drinking heavily at a super awesome, fist-pumpin’ club, Deena Cortese put the moves on Erica, who for our purposes, will be referred to as the Tweedle Dumb of the dynamic twin duo.

I think this is a perfect example of why The University of Florida banned their students from hanging out with the MTV reality stars…

The twins, of course, proceeded to go home with the Shore cast and allow themselves to get in bed with pretty much, everyone but Ron and Sam, who were already snuggled up nicely with one another, after recently rekindling their romance.  I don’t know about you guys, but the rest of the night just made me feel well… icky.

These two girls need to run home and apologize to their parents, like, immediately.

During a recent interview with a New York Live, Jersey Shore star, DJ Pauly D DelVecchio, said he would only consider doing a show like Dancing with the Stars if his career took a nose dive – “I will do Dancing with the Stars when my career dips.”

I guess that makes sense considering Pauly D’s “back up plan” of spinning records has him on tour with Britney Spears and headlining in clubs for $10K per night!  Who needs to win a dancing competition when you can make other people dance for 10G’s?

While his obvious contempt for the ABC show may have sounded like a backhanded slight to rumored DWTS contestant, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Pauly D says he’s still not sure the tiny Guidette is even part of the cast.

I texted her congratulations about doing ‘Dancing,’ but she texted back ‘am I?’

As for life off the dancefloor, Pauly D says he’s more than happy to be back stateside after filming Season 4 of The Jersey Shore in Florence, Italy.

There are no tanning salons, which is a problem for me… The gym is an hour away and you have to carry your laundry because the streets are so narrow. GTL was a mess. Everything else was beautiful. You had to go to a nail salon if you want to go tanning.

Thousands of years of art, history and culture?  Yeah, sounds like a mess to me too, Pauly.

Virgin Group CEO Richard Branson‘s $70 million home was struck by lightning and destroyed by a massive fire on Saturday in the Caribbean. Among 20 guests in his home was Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet, who helped to rescue his mother from the flames.

Branson told reporters:

“I was on the island. I was woken up with people screaming. I was in the house right next door to the Great House (about 10 yards away)and looked over, saw the whole house engulfed in flames, and just ran stark naked to the house to try to get people out. I had my daughter, my mother, lots of nephews and nieces. … Obviously, the first priority was to rescue everybody, and fortunately, everybody got rescued.”

He continued:

“My mother’s 90 years old and, in order — although she can walk — in order to speed the process up, (Winslet) picked my mother up and carried her, carried her out of the house, and so Kate helped rescue my mother.”

Branson also said that while many photos were destroyed in the fire, as well as a second autobiography he was working on, the most important thing is that his family and friends are OK.

Singer and songwriter Nick Ashford of the musical duo Ashford and Simpson died in a New York City hospital from throat cancer on Monday.

He met his wife Valerie Simpson in 1964 and married in 1975. Together, the talented duo wrote hits like ”Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “I’m Every Woman” and “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing.” The also penned hits for singers such as Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Ray Charles and other Motown superstars.

Ashford and Simpson were also famous for their own hits “Don’t Cost You Nothin’” and 1984′s “Solid.” They continued touring together up until very recently.

Ashford, who was 70, is survived by Simpson, 64, and their daughters Nicole and Asia.

Actress Jennifer Garner finally put those pregnancy rumors to rest by confirming she is indeed expecting her third child with her husband, actor Ben Affleck. The 39 year-old actress had been walking around with what could only be a baby bump – she could not hide it anymore, so it was time to announce the good news.

The happy couple is absolutely thrilled to expand their family once again. Ben and Jen, who have been married for six years, are the proud parents to 5 year-old Violet and 2 year-old Seraphina. The talented Amy Winehouse tragically passed away at the young age of 27 late last month. The “Rehab” singer was found dead in her London apartment, and a lot has been speculated about the cause of death.

The toxicology report was finally released – it was determined there were no illegal drugs in the singer’s system at the time of her death, but Amy had been drinking. The role of the alcohol in her death is remains undetermined. The potential use of prescription drugs is not even mentioned.

Amy’s family released the following statement:

“Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy’s system at the time of her death.”

“Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death.”

“The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October.”

After all that has been said and written about Amy’s drug and alcohol abuse and the tragic events, Amy’s family probably just wants to be able to mourn the loss of their loved one in peace, which was not possible with all the speculation on the circumstances of her death.

Madonna sure knows how to live it up. The 53 year-old singer might have dumped 25 year-old Brazilian model Jesus Luz, but she already found herself a new boy toy replacement – 24 year-old French dancer Brahim Zaibat (more pictures below).

Brahim and Madonna met at the launch party of the Material Girl clothing line, and immediately hit it off. The Queen of Pop clearly likes them buff, naïve and the younger, the better. Who is not happy with this new relationship? Patricia Vidal, Brahim’s mother!

Patricia told the National Enquirer: “My mouth fell open when I realized that my son was Madonna’s new boyfriend. I’m still trying to come to terms with it.” The age difference and Madonna’s religious are only two of the reasons why Patricia is not happy. “I certainly wouldn’t say we’re overjoyed by his relationship with a non-Muslim.”

Can’t blame the poor woman. I’d be very concerned if my son was dating a woman who is eight years older than his own mama, has three children and a maneater (boyeater?) reputation.
