Actress Katie Holmes has been slated to appear on special Halloween episode of the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother.

Holmes, who earned her fame by starring on the 90′s show Dawson’s Creek, will play the Slutty Pumpkin; a potential love interest for Ted, played by Josh Radnor, that he met at a previous Halloween bash.

Co-creator Craig Thomas said, “Katie is a lovely and talented actress, which is why we’ve saved for her perhaps the most classily named character in our show’s history.” He added that the role was “literally six seasons in the making.”

I’m beginning to really like Holmes as an actress. I wasn’t a huge fan until I watched The Kennedys miniseries. Fingers crossed for a funny episode!
