Jane kicked off the show with an incredible opening musical number. The 51 year-old “Glee” star did an amazing job as the evening’s host, but, unfortunately, she did not take home the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, which was won by Julie Bowen (“Modern Family”).

The big winners of the night were: “Modern Family”, which won Emmys for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series plus Outstanding Directing and Writing in a Comedy Series; “Friday Night Lights” with the Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series Emmy for Kyle Chandler; and “Downtown Abbey” with the award for Best Miniseries/TV Movie.

And once again, Jon Stewart and his “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” took home the Emmy for Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Series for the ninth consecutive year, beating tough competitors like Saturday Night Live, Conan, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert’s genius “The Colbert Report”.

Lindsay Lohan is at the center of more drama. Surprised? Didn’t think so.

The actress reportedly threw a glass at photographer Jasper Rischen at V Magazine‘s New York Fashion Week ‘Black And White’ ball on Wednesday. Lohan luckily missed hitting Rischen, who was taking photos at the cocktail party on behalf of the host, and ran into a cocktail waitress instead.

One onlooker took to Twitter after witnessing the altercation:

“Wow. Lindsay Lohan is as trashy as they always say. She threw drinks and glasses to me as we tried to take a shot for V.”

But as always, Lohan’s rep came to the rescue, denying any reports of the incident:

“Lindsay did not throw anything at anyone, plain and simple. Making up stories about Lindsay has become a pastime for many people.”

Bravo has confirmed that four of their Real Housewives of New York will not be returning next season. Alex McCord, Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon and Cindy Barshop were all fired by the network.

Jill Zarin Claims She was Not Fired from RHONY

In a statement, the cable network said:

“Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and LuAnn DeLesseps will be returning for season five of The Real Housewives of New York City. We’ve had a fabulous run with all the ladies and appreciate them sharing their lives with our viewers. It is a friendly departure among the other ladies and we continue to have ongoing discussions with them.”

Late Saturday night, McCord Tweeted the news:

“Nothing was decided until today, but as of tonight a decision has been reached. [Husband] SimonvanKempen & I are leaving #RHONY, sadly but amicably.”

McCord’s husband, Simon Van Kempen told The Hollywood Reporter he and Alex aren’t through with television yet:

“Alex and I are sad that it’s come to this. We had a great four years. We don’t intend for this to be the final time you’ll see us on television. Everything happens for a reason. We are not happy, we’re not sad. It is what it is. We thank our fans. We have tremendous, tremendous outpouring of support…We’re not going away. We remain happy and long may that continue.”

A rep for Zarin said in another statement:

“Jill is out of town with her husband Bobby and they are visiting her daughter Ally at college for family weekend so she is not speaking with the press. I can tell you that she is very happy and extremely busy with the national launch of her shapewear line Skweez Couture by Jill Zarin which will debut at Lord and Taylor stores across the country this month and then roll out at other national retailers in the coming months. Jill is humbled by the extraordinary amount of media interest in her response and looks forward to personally opening up about all of this very soon and announcing some exciting new projects.”

There is no word from Bensimon yet.

In other words, they’re all pissed off and don’t have anything nice to say. I, for one, am thrilled with this news. I guess I’m most shocked that Alex has been fired, but I thought she took the drama a little too far this season. It was almost as if she was trying to ensure she would stay on the show and it backfired. Good luck in the real world, ladies.

MTV star, Vinny Guadagnino may have gotten his start in reality TV, but the Jersey Shore jokester i ready to try his hand at some serious acting.

Well, maybe not serious acting, but acting nonetheless.

For the past several months, the 23-year-old has been taking acting classes and will finally get the chance to show off his chops this fall, on the CW hit 90210.  According to sources, he will be playing a participant in a high-stakes poker game – so it should be a real stretch for our boy, Vin.

In an interview earlier this year, Guadagnino discussed his desire to break into “the biz”.

Well right now I’m taking some classes and then I was on a show called ‘”Disaster Date’ that was like an improv show which was awesome. ‘Jersey Shore’ has afforded me some opportunities to work with like different talk shows like Jimmy Fallon and George Lopez where I’m constantly acting and building up my resume. Besides just taking my classes, I have a lot of little projects rolling in.

I feel like taking an improv class with Vinny would be eerily similar to taking an improv class with Michael Scott…

Earlier this week, former Real Housewives of DC star Tareq Salahi claimed his wife Michaele had been abducted after she didn’t show up to a hair appointment minutes away from their Virginia home. What poor Tareq came to find out was that his wife was having an affair with Journey guitarist Neal Schon, and that she had fled with him and his band to Tennessee. Now, Tareq has filed for divorce from his reality show wife.

In the filing, Tareq says:

“[Michaele] continually exposes our friends and acquaintances to her adulterous relationship and has flaunted the same throughout the community, the nation and indeed the world, and thus caused me to suffer great harm, humiliation and embarrassment.”

Tareq also goes on to blame Journey, claiming the band has been paying for Michaele’s travel accomodations and other expenses.

The eldest daughter of former Senator Ted Kennedy and sister of Patrick Kennedy, Kara Kennedy, died suddenly Friday at the age of 51.

Maria Shriver’s Father, Sargent Shriver, Dies

The family of Kara confirmed the news that she had passed. “She’s with dad,” Patrick Kennedy said. Their father died after battling a brain tumor in 2009 at the age of 77. She worked closely with her father on his senatorial campaign.

The Associated Press reports that Kara died while working out in a Washington, D.C. area gym.

Kara was a cancer survivor. In 2003, she had a malignant tumor removed from her lungs. Her brother said the treatment  ”took quite a toll on her and weakened her physically. Her heart gave out.”

She is survived by her husband Michael Allen and two teenage children.

Singer Sinead O’Connor certainly isn’t being shy about her feelings on suicide. In fact, on Wednesday, the Irish singer Tweeted to her fans,  ”Anyway…If any1 knows how I can kill myself…Without my kids finding out I did it deliberately pls tell me asa f–kin p.” And that was just a small bit of the public rant.

“I do believe suicide is a sin. Because u may as well have murdered every one who loves u even remotely. Including ‘God’. And we all have people who adore us…Even if we think we don’t.”

 ”Its a lie too, suicide. It doesn’t solve your problems. It only makes them infinitely, un-countably worse. Its a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Which brings u a whole rake of new karmic problems. Its selfish. And shit. So…Let’s not do it.”

But she was sure to defend her Twitter rant to readers, writing:

 “BUT It’s ok to FEEL suicidal. That is most definitely neither a sin nor a sign necessarily, of madness. It’s quite normal to feel that way sometimes.”

O’Connor attempted suicide in 1999 on her 33rd birthday.

Shockingly enough, September is suicide prevention month. Maybe O’Connor’s rant should be a lesson to us all to look out for our loved ones and be aware of the signs.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Glenn Howerton and his wife Jill Latiano welcomed a baby boy on September 12. The actor shared the good news on an appearance on Conan Wednesday.

Howerton, 35, and his wife decided it would be best to wait to name their son after they saw him, he told Conan O’Brien:

“My wife and I thought it would be a good idea to wait to see the baby first before we actually decided what his name would be … get a sense of the guy.”

“Then we saw him and he looked like a tiny little baby alien grandpa creature and I was like, ‘I’m not getting any information from this — at all.’”

Hysterical! So what name did they go with? Miles Robert. Perfect!
