The 30 year-old soccer player, who danced quite a raunchy and sexy Cha Cha with her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy this week (watch video here), does not believe she can be seen as a sex symbol. The idea of sexy is all very foreign to Hope.

“I still don’t buy the idea that I’m a sex symbol,” Hope said. “Sure, I’ve had marriage proposals, invitations to military balls and prom offers. But my entire purpose is trying to be the best, and if that exudes beauty too … it means the image of the typical female body type is finally evolving.”

“Growing up, I felt insecure about my build,” adds the 5’9″, 150-lb. athlete. “Guys would say, ‘Look at those muscles! You can kick my ass!’ I didn’t feel feminine. But that’s changed in the last four years.”

And Dancing With The Stars is the perfect opportunity for Hope to prove she can be softer, more feminine and even sexy. Did Hope convince you yet? If Maksim cannot teach her to be sexier, I don’t know who can.
