Singer/actress Demi Lovato took over the field to perform her rendition of the National Anthem (“The Star Spangled Banner”) at the Game 5 of the 2011 World Series between the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas on Monday (October 24)- watch video below.

The 19 year-old singer, who recently completed a stint in rehab for an eating disorder and emotional distress, dedicated the special performance to her fans because without them she would have not been there… literally!

“My fans were actually the ones that sent a petition saying, like, ‘Can we get Demi to sing the national anthem?’ and sent it to the MLB and the Rangers’ Twitter, and they saw it and they called.”
