After being acquitted of the murder of her British roommate Meredith Kercher, Amanda Knox was released from prison and is currently on her way back home after catching a flight to London at the Leonardo da Vinci airport in Rome, Italy on Tuesday (October 4). In London, Amanda, who is accompanied by some family members, will catch a connecting flight to the US.

In a letter to the Italy-US Foundation, Amanda thanked Italian supporters for helping her get through four years in prison in Peuglia, Italy. “Those who wrote, those who defended me, those who were close, those who prayed for me,” she wrote. “I love you, Amanda.”

Amanda’s sister, Deana Knox, is also relieved the nightmare is over after the appeals court overturned her sister’s and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito’s murder conviction on Monday (October 3).

“We’re thankful that Amanda’s nightmare is over,” said Deana. “She has suffered for four years for a crime she did not commit.”

“We are thankful to the court for having the courage to look for the truth and to overturn this conviction,” she said.

What’s next for Amanda Knox? A multi-million dollar book deal? Numerous talk show appearances? Unfortunately, the family of the victim was left with a bunch of unanswered questions. “It was a bit of a shock,” said Stephanie Kercher, Meredith’s sister. “It’s very upsetting … We still have no answers.”

According to a TMZ report, Kelsey and Camille were in court Friday because Kelsey wanted custody of his children Mason and Jude, while he was in L.A. this week.  Despite Camille’s protests, the judge granted Kelsey’s request, with the provision that the children attend all their regularly scheduled activities.  No problem, says Kelsey – I’ll just have their nanny take them.

During a recent appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, explosive Jersey Shore couple Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola denied rumors that they will be heading down the aisle anytime soon.

Thank goodness!  Talk about a recipe for disaster…

The pair, who’ve been on again/off again and on again/off again and on again/off again… since the show’s first season say they’re aware that their relationship can be dysfunctional at times and have better sense than to try and force something as serious as marriage.

Or as Sammi very succinctly put it,

“The View” co-hosts, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters, were involved in quite an interesting argument over the use of the N-word on Monday (October 3)- watch videos below.

Whoopi Goldberg brought the subject and used the N-word while quoting presidential candidate Herman Cain. Barbara also used the word, adding, “It’s very hard for me to say. … The fact that I just said it now gives me chills.”

However, when Barbara used the N-word, Sherri, who was okay with Whoopi saying it, claimed to be personally offended by the way Barbara said the word. Who’s acting like an ignorant racist now?

“I didn’t like the way you said it,” Shepherd told her co-host. “I don’t know if it’s a semantics thing, but it’s something that goes through my body.”

“When I heard you say it, it was fine,” Shepherd told Goldberg. “You said it a different way.”

“Yeah, it’s something about hearing you say it,” Shepherd said. “I don’t like it when you use the word. … When you say it, it’s a different connotation.”

So Sherri and Whoopi are allowed to joke around and say the N-word as much as they please, but Barbara isn’t because she is white. This is a very simple example of racism, coming from a person who revealed she was a victim of racially-motivated bullying.

We should all just agree to abolish the N-word. And for Sherri’s sake of argument, I’d also suggest African-Americans stop using the term “white trash” to refer to low-life Caucasians.
