“The X Factor” contestant, 13 year-old Rachel Crow, who’s part of the Top 12 as one of Simon Cowell’s girls, showed up on stage with a new look and a slimmer new figure last week (see video here).

Rachel is now a superstar, so she has to worry about her health and appearance. The young singer confessed she was able to lose 15 lbs in just two months with a healthy diet and exercise.

“I decided to do it because I thought, ‘You are going to be on TV, you gotta clean up your act. You have to give it your all.’ I really went all out. I just did a lot of cardio and working out and my mom was with me all the way so I am really happy. Food used to be everything to me but now it is not. It is more like I eat for survival. So now I am good.”

When asked if she had been pressured by someone from the show to lose her baby fat, Rachel explained, “Not at all. It was my decision 100 percent. I told my mom let’s go out and see if I can do something about my weight. She was 100 percent behind me. ”

Rachel does not plan on losing any more weight because “if I did I wouldn’t be Rachel.” After the judges compliments last week, Rachel is actually comtemplating her future as an actress.

“I love acting. I think it is fun. But singing is definitely my number one passion,” she said. When a kid is as talented, sweet, humble and down to earth as Rachel, they can certainly become whoever they want to be.
