The Black Eyed Peas might not be breaking up anytime soon, but Fergie’s (aka Stacy Ferguson) days are numbered. The 36 year-old singer, who is looking forward to settle down and start a family with her husband Josh Duhamel, is rumored to be leaving the band.

As Fergie is getting ready to say goodbye after BEP’s last scheduled show (on November 23), singer Ashanti seems to be more than happy to take her place. According to MediaTakeOut, Ashanti joined the group on their world tour as some sort of audition.

After spending more than a month together on tour, the BEP guys think Ashanti would fit in perfectly as Fergie’s replacement. Ashanti still hasn’t signed on the dotted line, so it’s not exactly official, but they are expected to make a big announcement soon.

BEP’s Taboo has only confirmed that Fergie is definitely taking an indefinite leave of absence. “We have to respect Ferg. Ferg is our sister. She definitely wants to have a family, and we’re happy for her,” he said.
