Diva Mariah Carey proudly showed off her post-baby body in a skin-tight mini black dress and announced she lost 70 lbs after giving birth to her 6 month-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe Cannon, in an interview for OWN’s “The Rosie Show” on Tuesday (November 8)- pic below.

The 42 year-old revealed she reached such incredible results with a strict diet and exercise courtesy of Jenny Craig, but she also had to lose a lot of water weight (40 lbs.) after a difficult pregnancy.

“In the beginning, when I first had the babies, I had so much edema … water and swelling. Most pregnant woman have that just in their feet,” Mariah Carey says. “One day I was doing my thank-you notes and I noticed it started rising up the leg, so I had edema. … I didn’t think I would ever be the same person.”

“The first week, I lost 40 lbs. … of just water,” Carey says. “It was just water, initially. When I started with the program, I lost at least 30 lbs. of weight that needed to be lost.”

So, Mariah basically lost 30lbs and feels better than ever now that she is a mother to two wonderful babies. The “Butterfly” singer claims losing weight after the pregnancy wasn’t all about vanity, but it was all about being healthy and feeling good in her own skin.

“The whole point of this is not just like: ‘Oh, hey, look at me and my weight loss, I’m fantastic.’ It’s really health. Like I said, I learned it when I became helpless and felt so vulnerable like never before in my life.”

If there’s one thing in life Mariah fears, then that’s the scale. “I never weighed myself,” she explains. “People will think I’m a liar but it’s true. This is another cliché phrase, I’m a big boned girl … I’m tall and so I always weigh more.” More power to you, Mariah!
