Rehabilitated rapper Chris Rene (Team L.A. Reid) performed a mash up of “Let It Be” by The Beatles and his own original “Young Homie” during a very special Thanksgiving night at the “The X-Factor” Top 9 live show on Tuesday (November 22)- watch video below.

Chris dedicates his performance to his rehab counselor who he credits for saving his life. I personally loved the fact he brought “Young Homie” back. Nicole Scherzinger pointed out how powerful Chris’ music and words were. Paula Abdul took the opportunity to thank Chris’ counselor and encourage him to continue saving lives.

Simon Cowell honestly did not like the first part of his performance and was glad Chris decided to remind people exactly why he was chosen to be on that stage. Simon also believes Chris may have helped thousands of people by openly speaking about his struggles. L.A. Reid simply said he believes in Chris.
