Legendary Academy Awards producer Gilbert Cates, who also worked in movies like “Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams” (1973) and “The Last Married Couple in America” (1980), has sadly passed away at the age of 77.

According to TMZ, the producer’s body was found at a parking lot at UCLA in Los Angeles, California. There is no information on the cause of death. Gilbert founded and held the Dean position of UCLA’s School of Theater Film and Television from 1990 to 1998.

Gilbert produced a record of fourteen Academy Awards ceremony shows over 18 years, between 1990 and 2008.

Dancing With The Stars contestant Hope Solo is defending her pro dancer partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who broke one of his toes, for defending herself, trying to explain why his past week’s outburst against the judges, especially Len Goodman, was completely understandable.
