The official trailer for the upcoming movie “W.E.” co-written by Alek Keshishian and Madonna, and directed by the “Material Girl”, has been released (watch video below). Madonna’s second directorial venture tells the story of two fragile and determined women separated by more than six decades.

The movie starring Abbie Cornish, James D’Arcy and Andrea Riseborough tells the story of a woman named Wally Winthrop obsessed with the love story of King Edward VIII and American divorcee Wallis Simpson back in the 30’s. Wally finds out their ultimate love story was not as perfect as she thought as their lives unraveled in the following decades.

“W.E.” received mixed reviews after it premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September 2011. The movie will be distributed by the Weinstein Company across the country on February 3, 2012.
