The pop princess is officially engaged after her boyfriend proposed on his 40th birthday Thursday night (December 15) in Los Angeles, California. Jason reportedly went down on one knee and proposed with a big Neil Lane rock.

“He surprised her after she gave him his gifts and after they had cake last night,” a source says. “They’ve been talking about marriage for a long time.”

Earlier today, Britney teased engagement news with a criptic message to her fans on Facebook. “OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo,” she wrote.

The newly engaged couple is allegedly heading to Vegas to celebrate tonight.

Britney and Jason started dating back in 2009. The “Baby One More Time” singer, who has two sons (6 year-old Sean Preston and 5 year-old Jayden James), was previously married to Jason Allen Alexander and Kevin Federline.
