Cher’s son Chaz Bono and his fiancée Jennifer Ella have decided to call off their engagement and put an end to their relationship after being together for more than 12 years. The two will continue to be good friends and have nothing but love and respect for each other.

Chaz had proposed to his girl, who has been with him through his transition from female to male, in Seattle earlier this year. The proposal was filmed for a CNN documentary called “Being Chaz.”

The 42 year-old first transgender contestant on Dancing With The Stars also took to his Twitter to thank the fans for their incredible support. “Thanks for your concern about our separation. I’m doing fine, and we remain on good terms with nothing but respect and affection 4 each other,” he tweeted.
