Chris and Avril? Couldn’t the X Factor come up with a more relevant singer to duet with the contestant? “Complicated” is such a girly song. Chris did not only look awkward, but he sounded awful. Plus, can we take a moment to acknowledge Avril is 27 years old and still looks like a 17 year old. Burn, burn!

Nicole Scherzinger gives judging a try, saying “It was a little shaky in the take off,” but she quickly regret it. She added some verbatim for good measure: “You’re infectious. You shine.” Paula Abdul basically said Chris is so honest and transparent that it doesn’t even matter than he can’t sing to save his own life (or something like that!).

Simon Cowell was on a mission to make Chris a frontrunner for this competition, saying he felt his joy and confidence on stage. L.A. Reid declared Chris and Avril were at home since they are two stars that simply complimented each other. What? Excuse me? Uh. Oh. Chris’ neighbor is a mad woman.
