Standing ovation for Melanie Amaro. She slew it. There’s absolutely no doubt Melanie is the best singer in the competition. Whatever she may lack in charisma, she oozes in talent and vocal power. One side note: why the hell was she wearing that white jacket? It totally screwed up the big diva sparkly silver dress ensemble underneath.

L.A. Reid loved it, calling it a $15 million dollar performance. Nicole Scherzinger’s got really emotional, saying Melanie is empowering and that’s what music is all about. Paula Abdul managed to not spasm this time and actually sounded incredibly bored. Simon Cowell believes Melanie should be the winner to represent the country all over the world.
