Who Won The X Factor USA? Melanie Amaro was crowned the first winner of The X Factor USA in a lukewarm final results show hosted by Steve Jones on Thursday (December 22)- watch videos below.

The Top 12 contestants returned to the X stage to perform Lady GaGa’s “The Edge of Glory.” They all did a great job completely butchering the song (see video below). It was painful. Stacy Francis, Marcus Canty and Chris Rene were particularly awful.

The final 3 contestants, Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene and Josh Krajcik, kicked off the show with three completely different performances of Christmas songs. Josh brought the holiday spirit to the X stage.

At the end of the first hour of the final results show, Chris Rene, was eliminated or announced as the third place winner of “The X Factor” (see video below). The real battle for the title is between my two final contestants – Melanie Amaro vs. Josh Krajcik.

“I feel amazing that I got to do this, that I’m here and that God has blessed me with so many opportunities,” Chris Rene said. “I just got to say thank you.”

After another excruciating uneventful hour with a couple of good performances, Melanie Amaro is announced as the winner of the first season of “The X Factor” USA. The diva was shocked and could not contain the tears. This was a dream come true for the 19 year-old singer.

“Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!” was all she could get out through tears before falling to her knees to pray.

“America, thank you for giving this girl an opportunity,” Simon said on her behalf. “She is a star.”

“Thank you so much!” Melanie said. “I don’t know what to say. Thank you. God is good.”

Josh was also happy with his journey on the show as he congratulated to winner. “I feel amazing. Melanie deserves it. She has a wonderful voice. I’ve had such an incredible experience here … I couldn’t be happier,” he said.

Melanie Amaro was asked to sing one more time. Unfortunately, Melanie was forced to sing Beyonce’s “Listen” once again (see video below). Congratulations to the final 3, especially Melanie! And good luck, Josh!
