American Idol Season 8 contestant Danny Gokey announced over the weekend that he’s engaged to girlfriend Leyicet Peralta. So in true celebrity fashion, he shared a pic of the engagement ring he gave her with the world.

“Danny originally chose a ring that was too big for Leyicet’s finger,” says a rep for the country singer, “so they went on a hunt for a new one together.”

The two spend much of their money on Gokey’s charity, Sophia’s Heart, in honor of his late wife who died during a routine heart surgery.

“Leyicet had a specific budget she did not want to go over,” says the rep. “The couple know they have a lot of responsibility with Sophia’s Heart, so they wanted to make sure they spent their money wisely.”

Well, that’s a first!

The two plan to wed on Jan. 29.
