Etta James Taken Off Respirator, Health Improving

Singer Etta James‘ rep has confirmed that her health is improving and she is now breathing on her own after being taken off the respirator.

James, 73, was admitted to a Southern California hospital on Dec. 21 after experiencing breathing difficulties. The legend is diagnosed with terminal leukemia and suffers from dementia.

Her cancer was deemed incurable three weeks ago.
