Actor Christian Bale was blocked and attacked by guards when he tried to visit Chen Guangcheng, a blind civil rights activist who has been under house arrest for more than a year, in the city of Linyi, China on Thursday (December 15)- watch video below.

Christian Bale’s Inhumane F-Bomb Bonanza

The 37 year-old was in the country to promote his upcoming Chinese movie “The Flowers of War” when he decided to take an eight hour drive with a CNN crew to visit one of his personal heroes.

Chen was originally arrested for “damaging property and organizing a mob to disturb traffic” and sentenced to four years back in 2006. The blind lawyer and his wife continue under house arrest and Chinese guards don’t allow any visitors. In 2010, a video of authorities beating him in his own house caused outrage.

“I’m not being brave doing this. The local people who are standing up to the authorities and insisting on going to visit Chen and his family and getting beaten up for it and my understanding is getting detained for it, I want to support what they’re doing,” Bale told the CNN crew.

Bale is now being accused of doing this to create Oscar buzz for his movie in the Best Foreign Language Film category, but I actually believe the actor is genuinely interested in helping those people. Bale was seriously putting his life on the line by marching up to those thugs and demanding to see Chen.

“He’s been following the story and he was just really moved by the story and what this man’s trying to do and it’s impossible [to see him],” Bale’s representative told The Huffington Post, “and he thought, he was there for work, and he would try and see if he could help. [It was] just really being moved on a personal level and that is what he chose to do.”

“The Flowers of War,” a movie about the infamous mass murder and rape spree perpetrated by Japanese soldiers known as the Rape of Nanking back in 1937, is set for a limited release in US theaters later this month.

Who got voted off? Marcus Canty, of course! The singer who was once compared to Bobby Brown had been in the bottom three times before, but he had been saved by the judges/mentors or by the public vote.

After eliminating two of the favorite younger contestants, Drew Ryniewicz and Rachel Crow, there was no hope for Marcus. It was obvious he had overstayed his welcome. Melanie Amaro and Chris Rene easily secured their spot in the big finale next week.

The results were based purely on the public vote and not necessarily in the bottom two were Marcus and Josh Krajcik. The show was trying to create some drama with the possibility of another strong candidate being eliminated by the “save me song champion” as L.A. Reid so ironically put it.

In the end, Marcus promised we would hear more from him, while his mentor offered his support to the 20 year-old singer, but was secretly glad Chris Rene made it into the finals. That was the whole point of throwing Marcus under the bus with two extra corny performances this week, right?

“I’m okay, this is not the last you’ll see of me, I’m going to keep going. All my family and friends out there crying, stop crying. It’s all right!” Marcus said following his elimination. “It’s not over yet!”

LA Reid added: “I’m not happy to see you go. I think you’re a big star, a great singer and I think you’ve done great and will continue to do great. You’ve got my support.”

The X Factor USA season 1 finalists are: Melanie Amaro (Team Simon Cowell), Chris Rene (Team L.A. Reid) and Josh Krajcik (Team Nicole Scherzinger).

The 22 year-old nicknamed “Trouty Mouth” on the show is currently focusing on writing and recording his own music. Chord, who is dating actress Emma Roberts, recently made his triumphant return to TV after “Glee” fans threatened to go psycho loony on Ryan Murphy.

Radio and TV personality Howard Stern has officially joined “America’s Got Talent” as a jugde, replacing CNN host Piers Morgan in the upcoming season of the NBC’s hit talent show.

AGT producers allegedly wanted the King Of All Media to join their team so badly that they decided to move the whole show to New York City to allow Howard to continue working on his radio show.

I cannot wait to see just how far Howard will go with his critics. Fellow judge Howie Mandel, who replaced David Hasselhoff last year, is also excited to welcome his new controversial colleague.

Mandel told TMZ, “I couldn’t be happier. As my Mom always says, you can never have enough Howies.”

And guess who’s not happy with Howard’s new gig? The Parents Television Council claim primetime TV is no place for a guy like Howard Stern, “a performer who is synonymous with shock, profanity and obscenity.”

Oh, please! I’m positive Howard knows how to tame it down and become more appropriate for primetime TV. The guy is controversial, but not stupid.
