Actor Matt Damon, who has just premiered his movie “We Bought A Zoo” in NYC, basically slammed “Bourne Ultimatum” writer Tony Gilroy in a brutally honest interview for the upcoming January 2012 issue of GQ Magazine.

The 41 year-old did not even attempt to be nice, claiming the script was unreadable and blaming the studio for making a lousy deal for the third movie of the franchise. Tony allegedly negotiated to write only one draft of the script with no notes or rewrites for “an exorbitant amount of money.”

Matt said, “It’s really the studio’s fault for putting themselves in that position. I don’t blame Tony for taking a boatload of money and handing in what he handed in. It’s just that it was unreadable. This is a career-ender. I mean, I could put this thing up on eBay and it would be game over for that dude. It’s terrible. It’s really embarrassing. He was having a go, basically, and he took his money and left.”

Of course, Matt quickly issued an apology (sort of) as soon as the interview and specifically that quote came out. The Bourne star admitted that was not the time or place to express his opinions on the matter.

Matt’s apology: “If I didn’t respect him and appreciate his talent, then I really wouldn’t have cared. My feelings were hurt. That’s all. And that’s exactly why I shouldn’t have said anything. This is between me and him. So saying anything publicly is f****ng stupid and unprofessional and just kind of douchey of me.”

Humm. I don’t buy it. I strongly believe actors have the right to their own opinions, but once they accept to be part of the project they should either fully embrace it or get lost because blasting it in public is indeed very “douchey”.

I was really happy to do it.”

On getting nipple pierced for the role: “I’m naked quite a lot in the movie, and I thought, she has it in the book, and she should have it [in the movie]. Because of all the tattoos and the makeup and the piercings, and the physical transformations my body has to go through, it would always feel sort of like I was in costume, even if I was naked. And these so called doctors failed to recognize the fact Miley is still a teenager. Her body is still going through a lot of modifications. Plus, there are certain times of the month, when a girl’s best friends get all fuller and perkier.

Music legend Barry Manilow is scheduled to undergo surgery for bursitis in his hips and to repair torn leg muscles. The 68 year-old is keeping a positive attitude as he will have to spend the next six weeks recovering from the surgery.

“That’s what you get when you jump around to ‘Copacabana’ for 30 years!” he says. “Wish me luck!”

The “Mandy” and “Copacabana” singer recently performed his 1,000th concert in a seven-year long run of his show at The Hilton and The Paris Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Barry is expected to return to the stage in Chicago on February 2, 2012.
