Former Disney star Demi Lovato says “sober is sexy” in a revealing interview featured on the cover of the upcoming February 2012 issue of Seventeen Magazine (see pictures + video below).

After a stint in rehab, the 19 year-old singer/actress claims she now does nothing she feels ashamed of, but confessed she did indeed use drugs to “numb the pain.” Demi’s new motto is: “Sober is Sexy!”

“I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs, I don’t throw up after my meals, I don’t starve myself. There’s nothing that I do that I feel ashamed of,” Demi reveals. “I have so much to look forward to — from little everyday things, like where I’m going to go shopping with my friends, to big things, like heading out on the road [on tour], or even really long-term things, like what my next big project will be.”

“I think sober is sexy. It’s cool. I think it’s way cooler to be above the influence than under the influence.”

The “Unbroken” singer also talked about her love/hate relationship with BFF Miley Cyrus. Contrary to BFF Selena Gomez, who actually is as boring as she looks, both Miley and Demi are very determined, stubborn and fiery, which is a bad combination when both of them are PMSing. Cat-fight!

“No matter how many times we fight, we will always be in each other’s lives. Miley Cyrus and I are very strong-headed, so when we fight, it’s brutal and we’re like, ‘We’re never going to be friends again!’ Then two days later, we’re like, ‘I love you and I miss you!’ Demi said.

“Selena and I, we never fight. She’s not a confrontational person at all. Both of them will never leave my life no matter what happens because we’ve been through so much together.”

As for the support of new BFFs, Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian, Demi is grateful they took the time to reach out to her when she needed the most. Kim and Demi are now super tight, but I thought Demi and Taylor were good friends before the former Sonny With a Chance star’s meltdown.

“We’re not super-close, but Taylor Swift tweeted ‘Pray for Demi,’ which I thought was really awesome of her,” Demi confesses. “And Kim Kardashian, the busiest woman on the planet, took time to call me.”
