“My Week With Marilyn” star Michelle Williams won the Best Actress trophy for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe during the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (January 15)- more pictures below.

The 31 year-old actress, who wore a silk and velvet amethyst gown by Jason Wu, delivered an emotional speech, in which she thanked her six-year old daughter Matilda Ledger, and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for putting in her hands the same award given to Marilyn more than 50 years ago.

Michelle said, “I consider myself a mother first and an actress second, and so the person I most want to thank is my daughter, my little girl, whose bravery and exuberance is the example that I take with me in my work and in my life.”
