The Hills/Dancing With The Stars, Kristin Cavallari, and her fiancé, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who recently reconciled and renewed their engagement, are officially expecting their first child together.

“We are thrilled to announce we are expecting our first child together,” they tell PEOPLE exclusively. “It’s an amazing time in our life and we can’t wait to meet the new addition to our growing family.”

The couple, who met through a mutual friend, E! host Giuliana Rancic, in August of 2010, dated for only eight months before becoming engaged during a romantic vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in April 2011. They called off their engagement in July 2011, and reconciled in November.

“Sometimes, in order for things to get better, they have to end – even if it’s momentarily,” the 25 year-old reality star said of their on-off and on again engagement.
