A few months after vocal cord surgery, British songstress Adele is set to make a big, triumphant return to the stage at the Grammy Awards this weekend (February 12). The “Someone Like You” singer is nominated for six trophies and expected to become the big Grammy winner of 2012.

People Magazine decided to honor Adele with an interesting cover piece about how she managed to survive a “broken home and broken heart” and the recent fear of possibly losing her voice when she is quickly becoming a megastar.

One of Adele’s teacher, Arthur Boulton, revealed the singer is very determined and a hard working girl. “She got to where she is through sheer hard work,” he said. Hard work and tons of inspirational heartbreak, I must add.

The 23 year-old is currently happy and in a relationship with Simon Konecki, who was rumored to be married (he is not!) and to have a 5 year-old daughter. Meanwhile some people need to simply appreciate her talent and stop talking about her weight. Yes I’m talking to you, Karl Lagerfeld!

The snobbish fashion designer had the audacity to call Adele a “little too fat.” Shut up! First of all, that’s just plain rude. Learn some manners. Plus, it’s good to see real people with real bodies be recognized for something other than starving themselves to look like fancy skeletons.

Adele seems to be pretty confident of herself and comfortable in her own skin. “I’ve never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines,” she says. “I represent the majority of women and I’m very proud of that.”
