Whitney Houston’s mentor/good friend, Clive Davis, delivered a long and touching speech as he remembered and paid tribute to the singer during her funeral service at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday (February 18)- watch video below.

“You wait for a voice like that for a lifetime,” Davis recounted, “You wait for a face like that, a presence like that, for a lifetime. Whitney lived music, Whitney loved music, this was her world.”

Davis also recalled the first time Whitney walked into his office, her first number 1 hit and how privileged he was to call her a true and loyal friend. He also reminded Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown to always be proud of her mother.
