The Bodyguard star Kevin Costner remembered his late co-star Whitney Houston during one very touching speech at the singer’s “home going” service held at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday (February 18)- see video below.
The 57 year-old actor revealed he and Whitney had a lot in common, including the stories they shared about getting in trouble at their Baptist churches, and how he delayed filming “The Bodyguard” for a year because she was on tour. Kevin believed Whitney was the one for that role.
“Why don’t you think of another singer, maybe somebody white? I told everyone I had taken notice that Whitney was black, the only problem was I thought that she was perfect for what we were trying to do.”
Costner ended his emotional speech with: “There is a lady in Heaven making God Himself wonder how he created something so perfect.” No words. Amazing speech by Kevin Costner.
