The CW has announced that actress AnnaSophia Robb, best known for her role in the 2007 film “Bridge to Terabithia,” will play Carrie Bradshaw in their new show “The Carrie Diaries,” the prequel to the “Sex and the City” story.
Robb, 18, will star in the role made famous by Sarah Jessica Parker. But this series, based on the novel by Candace Bushnell, will “focus on a young Carrie Bradshaw — before the Manolo Blahniks — as she grows up in a small town during the 1980s, learning about love, sex, friendship and family while still balancing the day-to-day drama of high school.”
“Running Wilde” actress Stefania Owen will play Robb’s younger sister on the show.
