‘The Artist’ Dog Wore 18-Carat Gold Bone Bow Tie to Oscars (PHOTO)
Uggie the dog, who has garnered much attention after his appearance in the Oscar-winning film The Artist, sported a special custom-made Chopard bowtie of 18 carat gold and satin to the Academy Awards on Sunday.

The dog bone-shaped charm, which featured his name, was designed by Chopard’s Co-President and Artistic Director Caroline Scheufele. Now that the Oscars are over, the collar will be auctioned off for The Amanda Foundation, which helps homeless animals.
Unfortunately, Uggie will be retiring due to a mysterious neurological disorder. ”It comes and goes,” trainer Omar Von Muller told the Daily Mail recently. “It is a shame this has happened when he is getting the biggest success of his career, but we feel the best thing to do is to retire him after the Oscars.”
