Whitney Houston’s 19 year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown opened up to reveal she still feels her mother’s presence in an intimate interview for Oprah’s Next Chapter, which aired exactly one month after the death of the legendary singer on Sunday (March 11)- watch video below.

Bobbi might still not be able to listen to her mother singing, but she “hears” her voice talking to her. After Whitney’s death, Bobbi found unexpected comfort in her Atlanta home. “I woke up and I heard her say, ‘All right, come home now. And when I came back home, I felt humble, I felt okay,” Bobbi said.

“I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me, ‘Keep talking to me. I got you,’” says Brown. “She’s always with me. I can always feel her. I can always feel her with me. She always asked me, ‘Do you need me?’ And I caught myself, out of nowhere, I didn’t even know I said it, I said, ‘I’ll always need you.’”

Of course Bobbi hears her mother’s voice. I believe it works as some sort of conscience that helps you get through the unbearable loss. You think about what they would tell you if they could. Then you hear them speaking in your mind like they are right next to you. And it’s so very comforting.

Bobbi plans on carrying on Whitney’s legacy, which is way too much weight on her shoulders right now, but somehow she is determined to do it. Ironically (or not), Bobbi never actually understood her mother’s impact on the world until the day she was put to rest in Newark, New Jersey.

“I have to carry on the legacy. We’re gonna do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing. It’s a lot of pressure, but she prepared me for it.”

“I just saw her as mom. The first time I saw her as a worldwide icon was when we went on tour. And the funeral. . . She made an impact not only on a few people. She made an impact on the world.”

Whitney was found dead in the bathtub of her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton on February 11. The official cause of death hasn’t been determined yet, but everything points to an accidental death since there were no signs of trauma or foul play. The case is still currently under investigation.
