Smash star Megan Hilty has landed her first record deal.

Hilty, who first showed off her talents on Broadway before joining the NBC hit, confirmed the news with Life & Style Magazine. ”I just got my first record contract with Sony, so we just started doing demo music this week. I’m totally stoked,” she told Life & Style on March 21. “It’s been so many dreams coming true for me!”

She added that the new record will have both original material and covers. ”It will have our own flavor to it. The stuff I like to do is jazzier and a little old-school R&B.”

It was also announced that NBC has ordered a second season of her show. Congratulations!
