R&B singer Bobby Brown has officially been charged with three misdemeanor charges (two DUI-related, and a third for driving with a suspended license) after being arrested in Los Angeles on Monday. He now faces up to six months in jail.

Brown, 43, had a blood alcohol level of over .08 percent when he was pulled over. The California Highway Patrol reported that the singer failed a sobriety test when he was pulled over by an officer.

“Mr. Brown is taking this matter seriously, and an investigation is under way,” his attorney, Tiffany Feder said before Brown was formally charged. “The legal process shall run its course.”
