One Direction Sued For Band Name Rip Off
One Direction isn’t an original band name after all. Before British boy band One Direction members even met on the UK’s X Factor, another group of five guys named themselves One Direction. The American boy band is suing their British counterparts, Simon Cowell’s record label Syco and Sony Music.

US One Direction filed a trademark infringement lawsuit, claiming they formed in 2009, a whole year before UK One Direction was born, and have also filed a trademark application for the band name before them.
US One Direction demand $1 million in damages. But there’s more. They also want UK One Direction to change their name. Ouch. Simon is losing his touch. I thought he would have his team do some research before baptizing one of his boy bands.
I have a solution for Simon’s problems. I’d like to suggest the fusion of US One Direction and UK One Direction because one awfully annoying tween boy band in the world is more than enough.
