Musician Robin Gibbs, member of the legendary Bee Gees, has sadly passed away after a long battle against colon and liver cancer on Sunday (May 20). Robin was 62 years old.

The family issued the following statement to announce the tragic loss of the musician:

“The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”

Robin, who was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago, had been hospitalized several times. Last month, he was hospitalized with pneumonia when he fell into a coma to wake up a week later.
