American Idol alum Jordin Sparks took over the stage to deliver a touching performance of the late Whitney Houston’s classic “I Will Always Love You” during the 2012 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday (May 20)- see video below.

No one can compare to Whitney, but Jordin did a pretty good job that left Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown in tears applauding the singer’s performance while sitting in the audience. It was a sweet and beautiful moment.

Before Jordin took the stage, John Legend opened the tribute to the legendary singer with his rendition of “The Greatest Love Of All” behind the piano. After the musical tribute, Whoopi Goldberg gave Bobbi Kristina the Billboard Millennium Award who accepted it on her mother’s behalf.
