Justin Bieber might be in a lot of trouble with the law. The “Baby” singer is accused of criminal battery after he got into a physical altercation with a paparazzo, who was taking pictures of the Biebs and Biebs’ girlfriend Selena Gomez as they left a mall in Calabasas, California on Sunday afternoon (May 27).

Cops are still investigating, but they decided to refer the case to the L.A. County D.A. for possible criminal prosecution, which is common for high-profile cases. However, they still haven’t had the chance to interrogate Justin because he is currently promoting in forthcoming album “Believe” in Europe.

Self-defense is the important factor that will determine whether Justin is charged or not. If Justin is charged and convicted of criminal battery, he will face up to six months in jail. Of course, Biebs’ pretty face will most likely never see the inside of a jail cell. That’s what community service and probations are for.
