Andy Samberg Is Leaving Saturday Night Live
Comedian/actor Andy Samberg has confirmed he is officially leaving, hence he won’t return for a new season of Saturday Night Live this fall. In an interview with The New York Times, Andy confessed this was one of the hardest decisions he’s ever made, but he is ready for new challenges.

“It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life,” Mr. Samberg said. “Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.”
The 33 year-old confessed that he talked and got advice from co-star Kristen Wiig, who also left the show on a bittersweet note at the SNL season finale hosted by Mick Jagger last month (see video here).

“She [Kristen] kept saying it just feels like it’s her time,” Mr. Samberg said. “I connect with that. Something about it just feels like it’s the moment. My contract’s up and I did so much more than I ever thought I would ever even do.”
It’s the end of an era! First Kristen, now Andy. Saturday Night Live will never be the same again. However, Andy is open to the possibility of making special guest appearances or even host one special episode of the show.
