Christina Ricci looked incredible in a mini black dress custom made by Project Runway alum Christian Siriano on the red carpet of the 2012 MTV Movie Awards held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on Sunday (June 3)- more pictures below.

The 32 year-old actress’ dress was covered in crystals, beads, buttons and Timex watches. The designer explained the creative process and how Christina still wanted to feel glamorous and sexy in the fashion-forward creation.

“This was a cool challenge,” Siriano tells PEOPLE. “Working with such unconventional materials, you want to make the dress look fashion-forward and interesting without being campy.”

“We wanted to make it feel very delicate and vintage inspired, and Christina wanted it to feel almost like an antique piece of jewelry,” he says. “She likes to be sexy and glamorous.”
