Actress/author Danica McKellar, best known for playing Winnie Cooper on “The Wonder Years,” has decided to file for divorce from her husband, composer Mike Verta, after three years of marriage.

The 37 year-old cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce and is asking for the joint physical and legal custody of their 1½ year-old son named Draco Verta.

Danica said in a statement: “I am saddened by the end of my marriage to Mike Verta. However, we are committed to raising our son together and we are focused on remaining the best parents we can be.”

Danica and Mike, who dated for more than eight years before tying the knot on March 22, 2009, listed June 1, 2012 has the official date of their separation. The two did sign a pre-nuptial agreement.
