British songbird Adele announced she is pregnant with her first child on a special message posted on her official website on Friday (June 29). The father of the baby is the 24 year-old singer’s boyfriend, Simon Konecki.

Adele wrote, “I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx”

That was fast! Simon and Adele, best known to sing about heartache, have been dating for less than a year. And the “Turning Tables” singer had said she wanted to wait before starting a family.
