Actor Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have officially broken up and are getting divorced after more than five years of marriage. The news was confirmed by the actress’ attorney Jonathan Wolfe in a statement.

“This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,” says Wolfe. “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”

The 33 year-old “Dawson’s Creek” star married the 49 year-old actor in a fairytale wedding in a castle back in Italy back in November 2006. The two have a 6 year-old daughter named Suri Cruise.

Katie is probably just tired of playing the beard role. Or she just had enough of his Scientology crap. Anyhow, I thought the Scientologists’ Stepford program had a 10-year warranty. At least that’s how it worked with Nicole Kidman.
