Actor Ernest Borgnine Dies at 95
Actor Ernest Borgnine died Sunday of renal failure, his spokesman Harry Flynn told the Associated Press.
The 95-year-old, who won an Oscar in 1955 for his role in Marty, was surrounded by his family at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, according to the report.
After fighting in the Navy in World War II, Borgnine pursued acting, and was most well known for his roles on Broadway in Harvey and in the film The Poseidon Adventure.
Borgnine was married five times, once for six weeks to Broadway star Ethel Merman in 1964, and has four children. His final marriage to skin care mogul Tova Traesnaes lasted until his death.
