Katie Holmes, who stunned fans when she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise last week, hinted at her troubled marriage in an interview with Elle Magazine six weeks ago.

“He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years,” she told the magazine, which hits stands July 27 when asked about her husband. “I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that.”

“Things are not handed to anyone,” she went on to explain about being Mrs. Tom Cruise. “If anything, you work a little bit harder when you’re in such visible circumstances.”

Holmes, 33, began dating Cruise when she was 26.

The reason this relationship lasted as long as it did to begin with was because Cruise could boss her around like a little girl. Glad to know you’ve got some guys, Katie. RIP, TomKat.
