‘Modern Family’ Cast Settles Contract Issues

Modern Family cast mates Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O’Neill, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara have settled their contract negotiations and will soon be back to filming their new season.

The six actors have dropped the lawsuit they filed on July 24 that claimed their “current contracts were a violation of a California law that prohibits personal service contracts from exceeding seven years.”

A source close to the contract negotiations said the group also earned a pay raise. Instead of the $65,000 they were making per episode, they’ll be making closer to $170,000-$175,000 (including bonuses) per episode for the upcoming 22-episode season.

“It’s no surprise, but I’m of course thrilled and I cannot wait to get on stage Monday morning and start making the show again,” co-creator Steve Levitan told The Hollywood Reporter.
